I finally did it - I finished my bookshelf! This has actually been in the works for MONTHS because of so many hiccups. At one point I basically had to scrap my original idea and start over. I love the journey though, and the destination was very rewarding.I bought individual pipes and sprayed them with copper spray paint (because it's way cheaper than to buy straight up copper pipes). The actual shelf part is pinewood slabs covered in  some marble-patterned contact paper I had lying around. I was originally going to keep them unstained wood, but I felt like the marble made it look more polished. The copper grips are probably my favorite part because I feel like they really pulled the piece together. And I had the idea to use those little copper thumbtacks to attach them!Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I love the industrial chicness of it, and love the combination of the materials. It's also extremely sturdy and holds all of me and my roommates' books, along with some other fun items. Even though this has been in the works for several months, this only took me a day to build.~Special shout out to my roommates Sam and Natasha for putting up with me and my artsy shenanigans~   ~and my landlord too I guess~#shelfie,Abby
